“Since I started Nordic walking the results have been amazing, I’ve lost twelve pounds in weight, my body has tone up (even my ‘bat wing’ upper arms) and I feel so much fitter, plus I enjoy every walk whatever the weather. I join the group twice a week and walk on my own in between. You may also meet some very pleasant people on the group walks who like myself want to feel better and look after themselfs. I’m retired but Nordic walking is suitable for all ages as you walk at your own speed, it’s not competetive and it also helps people with certain problems in their back and joints. I had a hip and knee replacement plus operations on my hand through arthritis but I am still able to do this type of exercise. I enjoyed walking before but Nordic walking has so much more to offer as the poles help to propel you along and you can burn up extra calories too! “
